D. Shannon Kimes - Republican 9th District
I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. - Thomas Jefferson
Reduce spending now to ensure all our residents a better future. Pay off our debts so we do not leave behind a state with a bleak outlook to future generations. We should be questioning, not just every line in the budget but every last penny. We should not take the Democrats budget and spend even more!
WV spends too much on education for the results we get. We should streamline the bureaucracy and get the funds we can afford into the classrooms where they belong. Make it easier to get rid of poor teachers and administrators. Pay the best what they deserve.
Encourage Small Enterprise
Stop chasing the next billion dollar Brazilian bonanza and encourage West Virginians to start more small businesses, so the profits stay in our area. Stop picking winners and losers that get large tax payer funded incentives, tax credits, energy cost reductions, etc. Reduce regulation involved in operating a business and watch our economy rocket forward.
